## General information
The URL https://schemas.bgr.de/boreholeml/codelists/v1/ is the new home of the catalogue of controlled vocabulary (codelists) in version 1.x as of 1st July 2024. 

Since that date it replaces the functional codelists catalogue in version 1.x that was initially published and accessible under http://www.infogeo.de/boreholeml/3.0/codelists/.

The directory contains codelist files in version 1.x and the corresponding XML schema definition and supplementary files. 
The subdirectory archive contains previous versions of codelist files.
Codelists in version 1.x use the XML schema definition codelistItem_BMLCL.xsd in version 0.2 and were originally designed for BoreholeML 3.0.1

## Migration of BoreholeML
BoreholeML 3.0.1 was moved from the previous URL https://www.infogeo.de/boreholeml/3.0/ to the new URL https://schemas.bgr.de/boreholeml/3.0.1/ with the 1st July 2024. 

In this process the codelist catalogue in version 1.x was moved from the former URL http://www.infogeo.de/boreholeml/3.0/codelists/ to its new home with the URL https://schemas.bgr.de/boreholeml/codelists/v1/.
This is a subdirectory of the new general directory for the catalogues of controlled vocabulary used in different functional versions of BoreholeML.
There is no subdirectory for codelists in version 1.x under the new root directory of BoreholeML 3.0.1 anymore.

## Changes associated with moving
All files of the codelist catalogue that had any kind of absolute reference to files or URLs of the domain *www.infogeo.de* were updated in the moving process:
- All refences were changed to point to the correct new file locations and URLs in the domain *schemas.bgr.de*.
- No other changes were made, files without any references were merely copied. 

## Functionality after moving
Any applications related to BoreholeML 3.0.1 and the codelist catalogue in version 1.x should refer codelists via https://schemas.bgr.de/boreholeml/codelists/v1/ and the codelist file name from 1st of July 2024 on.
